Ok so let’s assume you have done the deed and said, told, asked or whatever for a divorce, to spend more time apart, a trial separation – however you have dressed it up and for whatever reason. What should you do then?
BEST AFFORDABLE CHEAP DIVORCE
Well actually, before even I really came to a final decision, I took myself off to see a solicitor. I needed to know what my situation was, so many things I realized I didn’t know – what was the procedure? what was it going to cost?, how long was it going to take?, who got what?! I decided even though a friend of mine had just gone through the procedure, I wasn’t ready to share it with anyone just yet – walls have ears plus I really don’t like ‘sofa’ advice (my wife has been guilty of getting that and taking it out of context already) – and I wanted to be as prepared as I could otherwise I knew I would get left behind in the scramble. So I contacted my own solicitor, I explained briefly to him what I – well actually it started like this “a friend of mine is contemplating a divorce and he needs some basic information”. Like that was going to work, as soon as I sat down in his office he just looked one of those looks that said ‘ok I am listening’ and I came clean. Soon after he stopped me in my tracks and said he couldn’t act for me – I was kind of shocked until he explained that as he had acted for both my wife and I he felt conflicted but he would recommend me to a good divorce lawyer. He did – and you know what, I work on the web and this guy has set himself up to work that way to in his practice specializing in matrimonial and labour law.
